Donna Summer Special - "Sunset People" & "Bad Girls"
PLEASE VIEW IN 480p! Segment five from the 1980 ABC-TV "Donna Summer Special". Remember, this is before MTV debuted. "Sunset People" and "Bad Girls" (essentially music videos) are presented back to back in this segment. Here's the trivia: the girl on the lamp-post in "Sunset" is Donna's sister. The nun who shakes her head in disapproval is Donna's manager, Susan Munao. On the transition to "Bad Girls", that's me on the video switcher during editing creating the "Don't Walk" sign flashing to the beat of the music. Again, for you die-hard fans, it's a shame that the producers won't allow a DVD be made of this special . . . there are stereo tracks existing for everything. But for now, you won't find a better quality copy anywhere. This is from the ¾" personal copy made while protection copies were being struck. Enjoy!

March 7, 1993 - My flight from Washington Dulles to London Heathrow aboard the British Airways Concorde. This was shot with Sony Hi8 camera on a SteadiCam. The finale song for the special that aired only once on ABC television in January, 1980. This transfer is from the only three-quarter inch made as the master tape rolled to provide feeds to back up recordings for the east coast.

This is a priceless piece of musical history especially with the original stereo soundtrack! All of them singing live really shows what talent they had. Olivia's "Hopelessly Devoted To You" was perfect and she sounded phenomenal. Thanks so much for restoring this with an excellent soundtrack and letting us all enjoy!

This flat earth community might think twice about the banned Concorde… absolute evidence the higher u go, some plane is still capable of flying through density > it’s engines were probably water/gas based (the Concorde was far much further evolved then the opposition) > flat earth = still no curve > flight paths just being much clearer flying by so fast makes u wonder why you’re not bending through space since there would be a curvature that should become visible.. Watch out people, we’re getting smarter than you might think

Excelent good songs
It looked like Agnetha (the blonde from ABBA) might have been pregnant during the taping of the show. I say this because with the oversize cover-up, she was wearing with the gigantic knot positioned right in front of her torso. I think they were trying to cover up a baby bump. Additionally, to me it even looks like her hips were wider, and it was not just because of all the extra material from the cover-up she was wearing.

Eine sehr interessante Aufnahme ohne viel technische Hilfsmittel oder ausgefeilten Soundcheck. Man konnte die Sänger sonst nie so mit ihren natürlichen klingenden Stimmen hören. Ein schöne Zusammenarbeit von mir Olivia Newton John, Anndy Gibb und ABBA. Es ist Dienst an ihrem Publikum auch vor wenigen zu singen. 😊
